University of California, Los Angeles, Class of 2017

Major: Psychobiology, Minor: Interdisciplinary Gerontology

“Thanks to Project GRAD I have had the privilege to attend college, where I have learned how to advocate for myself and my community. The years that I have spent in college have imparted me with valuable knowledge, a deeper consciousness, and a sense of empowerment regarding my undocumented status identity. Being the first one in my family to attend college and pursue a career in medicine has been challenging, but I have confronted each hardship and obstacle with the tools that Project GRAD has given me. Thanks to Project GRAD, I have been able to navigate school and use my gained skills to mentor, empower, and lift others as I continue my journey as a pre-health student.”
In addition to being a student, Jeannet is also the Intern Coordinator at Wesley Foundation at UCLA, Peer Mentor for Medicos Enfemeros y Dentistas Para El Pueblo (MEDPEP) at UCLA, a Student Volunteer at MEND (Meet Each Need with Dignity) Medical Clinic, a Welcome Ambassador for MiMentor.org, and a Research Assistant for Culture and Anxiety Lab for Mental Health Advances (CALMA).
